Both teams were in action over the long weekend. The 2nds played their first game of the season at home to Cabinteely. Batting first, Sandyford were dismissed for 98 despite a half century by Derek McCormack but the visitors made the target for the loss of 5 wickets, with Anto Burke, playing his first game for the 2nds in a number of seasons, taking two wickets.

David Gray enjoys a rare home cup of tea with Derek McCormack who scored a 50.

Better luck for the 1sts against Pembroke 4 recording a 7 wicket victory with Qasir Chohan (below) scoring a half century for the club's first competitive win of the season. Pembroke made 171 all out which Sandyford chased down for the loss of only 3 wickets in 33 overs.

The first competitive game of the season saw the 1st team travel to play Laois 2. Sandyford made 160-10 off 30 overs, with Muhammad A Javed top-scoring  with 62 but unfortunately Laois were able to knock off the runs for the loss of 7 wickets.

Muhammad A Javed's 62 was not enough to avoid defeat.
