A mixed weekend for Sandyford with the 1sts losing on Saturday and the 2nds winning on Sunday.

The 1sts visited Malahide on Saturday and the home side made 256 all out with Ali Khan taking 4/39. Despite a brave chase, with Sandyford man of the match Ali Khan top-scoring on 42 along with Qasir Chohan, Sandyford fell 61 runs short of the total, being dismissed for 195.

Sandyford 2nds entertained Swords 2nd in Marlay Park on Sunday and ran out comfortable winners. Batting first Sandyford made 172/7, Ihsan Ullah top-scoring with 28, but good bowling reduced Swords to 71 all out, with Mohammad Abdullah taking 5/12.

Three of the victors from the Swords game, Ajay Shastry, Vaibhav Kotnala and Mohammas Abdullah.

The 1st bad run of form continued with Merrion recording a 6 wicket victory on Saturday. Sandyford batted first and were dismissed for 120, with Vinay Iqbal top-scoring with 26.

Meanwhile, the 2nds, who weren't in action at the weekend, are pressing for promotion from Division 12 and are in second place behind Balbriggan 3rds.

The 1sts poor run of form continued when they visited Mullingar on the Saturday. Batting first, Sandyford were dismissed for only 89, and the home side easily chased down the target for the loss of 4 wickets.

A busy day for the scorers as the wickets tumble

The 2nds were the only team in action over the weekend, taking on Clontarf 5ths in the Junior Cup. Alas it was another early exit in a cup competition for Sandyford this season with the north-siders advancing to the next round.
